More about this activity...
What will you do?
From Ollantaytambo plaza, we ascend (by car) to 4,200 meters above sea level to catch trout in a mountain lake. After sharing tea, we descend to the village of Huilloc where we learn to cook the Inca way (burying food with hot rocks), dine with a family and watch them work their magic with woven textiles.

Learn about host Roger
Roger comes from a humble Andean village located above Ollantaytambo where locals speak Quechua. His parents moved the family to Ollantaytambo when he was 8 to provide Roger with better education. When a tour guide friend invited him to join a tour, Roger was captivated by the diverse languages, customs and energy among the group of foreigners. By 2021, Roger was launching a project to cultivate community-based tourism. Today he is his community’s devoted ambassador, driven to preserve traditional culture and to raise the standard of living of local families through sustainable tourism.
