More about this activity...
What will you do?
If you are staying in Huayllabamba, Urubamba or Yucay, we will pick you up from your hotel. Otherwise we will meet at the Boticaria Hanpikuy specialty shop. We will go by car to our first stop to have a look at the cave paintings. From there we will walk downhill to the Yucay Outlook where you will be able to see the entire town. After that, we visit our family farm where I will teach you how to make Uchucuta (the local chili sauce) and we will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch. After lunch we will walk through Yucay Inca Terraces which continue to be used for agriculture. We will visit the “Portada del Sol” where you will participate along with a Shaman in a traditional ceremony called “Payment to the Earth.” Afterwards, we will continue descending through the terraces to reach the Palace of Sayri Tupac. You will have some time to shop in a couple of Yucay’s specialty stores. We will end our day in the Yucay Museum to learn about local textiles, ceramics and goldsmithing.

Learn about host Dyana
I love nature. I like to explore new places and learn about different cultures. I am from Yucay, a beautiful town in the Sacred Valley. As a child I would wander its streets for hours and listen to my uncles and grandparents tell stories and legends about the village. Now I enjoy showing travelers from all over the world the hidden gems of Yucay.
