Description

More about this activity...

What will you do?

Venture into the world of fibers and natural dyes in the Lamay ravine. Learn the Andean textile process and begin the experience by shearing sheep and/or alpacas. Continue the spinning process with pushka or Andean distaff, and dye your creation with natural plants.  Take advantage of the experience to have the Lamay spinners talk to you about the meaning of the textile iconography and its relationship with the cosmovision. Also, learn Andean agricultural techniques and harvest Andean potatoes with the chaquitaclla, one of the oldest agricultural instruments in the Americas. Finally, enjoy a local lunch with your hosts. A unique experience.
