More about this activity...

What will you do?

Yucay is not the most visited village by tourists, but those who know it say it is one of the most beautiful villages they have ever seen. That is why I want to show you its history. We will start the tour to the terraces of Yucay and its water channels, a work of Inca engineering directed by Huayna Capac and known for being the largest system of terraces in the Sacred Valley. We will visit the gate of Antibamba -also called the Huaca del Maiz- and its two ancient mills. Along the way we will see cave paintings of human figures and auquénidos; as well as the famous chullpas or pre-Inca tombs. We will take a break to continue to the Palace of the Inca Sayri Tupac and the house of the Ñusta Beatriz Qoya, where I will tell you details of the history of this place.
